Standing Qigong – Part 2 – The Sacrum

Here you allow the knees to take the weight of your body which is then transferred through to your feet.
Qi Gong West Sussex - Relaxing the sacrum

As well as feeling our feet connected with the earth we also aim to have our sacrum and pelvis connected to the earth too.

We allow the sacrum and the tailbone to drop off the spine. (The pelvis isn’t being tipped back and the back isn’t being arched.)

So, the back of the pelvis sinks and the tailbone drops towards the feet. As we do this we should feel some pressure come into the back of the knees. Therefore, the knees take the weight of the body which is then transferred through to your feet. This way we can feel that our lower is body is connected down to our feet and into the earth.

(P.S. The sacrum is shown larger than it actually is in the drawing above ….)
